The former Cedar Tavern public house enjoys a prominent location overlooking Cedar Square close to the Blackpool Winter Gardens.
Joseph Boniface Architects were appointed to maximise the potential of the art deco building which benefits from views over the town centre and out towards the sea.
In response, a subtle roof extension was designed set back from the main façade to minimise any visual intrusion to the locally listed building from within the Square.
As part of the process, historical research was done on the building which found it was a former insurance building called the Globe Chambers. To form a new identity for the scheme, the premises will be renamed The Globe.
